Pakistan’s foreign minister Ishaq Dar on Tuesday said he had warned his Iranian counterpart not to attack Saudi Arabia, citing a mutual defence pact between Islamabad and Riyadh.

The move follows violent demonstrations in Pakistan over the killing of Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, which reportedly led to the deaths of dozens of protesters

The violence came after the United States and Israel attacked Iran, killing its Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.
