Gov. Kathy Hochul on Wednesday blamed the state's trial lawyer lobby for blocking her plans to enact crackdowns on auto insurance fraud to lower the cost of driver premiums.

Car insurance is only there for when you need it, and it certainly shouldn’t be used to try to make a quick buck. Granted, that expectation cuts both ways, but that’s a conversation for another time.
