Goons attacked Nairobi gubernatorial hopeful Irungu Nyakera's hotel in Kisumu, injuring staff and damaging property amid an alleged political dispute over tenancy.

Following the incident, Irungu Nyakera reportedly fired his gun twice in the air to disperse the goons who had raided the hotel before threatening further violence.
