NASA will roll the rocket slated to carry four astronauts around the moon to the launch pad on Saturday, a key step as the Artemis II moon mission nears.

The Space Launch System rocket is set to roll out Saturday, before the Feb. 6 target launch date. It's the final phase of ground testing for the Artemis program, which aims to return to the moon and lay the groundwork for Mars missions.

Ahead of the historic mission which will return humans around the moon, NASA's giant SLS rocket is set to roll to the KSC launch pad for testing.

NASA hopes to launch its crewed Artemis 2 moon mission in early February, but everything will have to go right to hit that ambitious target.

Depending on the timing, NASA could launch a fresh crew to the space station while four other astronauts are flying around the moon.
