Today, we remember Corporal Christopher M. Shea, 31, who was tragically killed on July 18, 2004, by a repeated drunk driver on Route 1. A car that had been involved in a hit and run accident just moments before, was driving northbound on the southbound side of Route 1. Corporal Shea was driving into Sussex County and had not heard dispatch make the broadcast since each county broadcasts on a different channel.
