Located just 60 miles southwest of Tucson lies the ghost town of Ruby, AZ. At one point more than 1500 people lived in Ruby and the mine was the state's second largest producer of lead, zinc and silver. The mine closed in 1940 and within a year the town was abandoned. The first incident occurred in February 1920 when Mexican bandits robbed and killed the two owners of the Ruby Mercantile.
