Good morning from Alfie, one of the 15 senior African fruit bats retired to us in Nov., 2025, from a zoo in Milwaukee. Alfie was one of two bats that was banded - he had a small yellow band around one ankle that, somewhere in the past, had helped to identify him. This morning, our director snipped that band off of Alfie, and we all celebrated with banana slices. Well, Alfie celebrated, and we cheered him on. Speaking of banana slices, that's what you're hearing - bananas being chopped as part of
