2022 is off with a BOOM for this bittern! In December, a male Australasian Bittern known as “Bushy” was the first of his species in WA to be fitted with a solar-powered transmitter to track his movements. Bitterns are large and secretive birds that live amongst the reeds, they are often very hard to spot spending most of their time hidden away feeding on fish, amphibians and insects.
